Global Energy Market Update

Updated October 2026

Since the conflict in the Middle East began in March, it has continued to create uncertainty across global energy markets. Its effects on international supply chains and wholesale energy prices are ongoing, and the longer-term position remains difficult to predict.

Our teams continue to monitor global developments, market prices and LPG availability closely. Our priority remains maintaining a reliable supply and service for our customers.

At present, Flogas deliveries are continuing as normal. If you’re an Auto-ordering bulk customer, we’ll continue to monitor your tank and plan your deliveries as usual. If you order your bulk LPG or gas bottles when you need them, please keep an eye on your supply and place your order in good time so we can plan your delivery.

If you’re concerned about your supply or are considering switching to Flogas, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help.

We’ll keep this page under review and share further information if changing market conditions materially affect our customers or services.

Frequently Asked Questions

What help is available with LPG heating costs?

Government support for LPG-heated households differs across England, Scotland and Wales. Eligibility isn’t automatic, and the support available will depend on where you live and your circumstances.

Flogas doesn’t administer these schemes or decide who qualifies, but the links below will take you to the relevant official information.

England
The Crisis and Resilience Fund is administered by local councils in England. It supports low-income households facing financial hardship or an unexpected financial shock.

Each council sets its own eligibility criteria and decides what support it provides. Some councils may offer help towards LPG or other heating costs.

Visit your local authority’s website or contact them directly if you think you may be eligible for support.

In Wiltshire
Homes in Wilshire may be eligible for the Warm & Safe Wiltshire programme: Warm and Safe Wiltshire – CSE

Scotland
The Scottish Emergency Heating Oil Scheme provides eligible households using LPG or heating oil with £300 towards a fuel order. The scheme has been extended into the winter months.

You may be able to apply if you receive a means-tested benefit, or if you’re experiencing financial hardship and have additional vulnerabilities.

Applications are managed by Advice Direct Scotland. If you qualify, the payment will be made directly to your LPG supplier and credited towards your fuel order.

You can also call Advice Direct Scotland on 0800 048 7413.

Wales
If you live in Wales and are experiencing extreme financial hardship, you may be able to get help with essential costs through the Welsh Government’s Discretionary Assistance Fund.

The type of support available will depend on your circumstances. Check the current eligibility guidance before applying.

Is my gas supply affected?

Deliveries from Flogas Britain are currently continuing as normal, with no disruption to supply.

As winter approaches, demand will naturally increase and our delivery schedules will become busier. If you’re an on-call customer, please keep an eye on your LPG level and place your order in good time. This helps us plan ahead and arrange your delivery when you need it. There’s no need to order more LPG than usual.

–+

Are gas prices going up?

We review market prices daily and take steps to reduce the impact of sudden changes wherever we can.

During this period of significant market disruption, we may need to apply a temporary surcharge in limited circumstances to help protect continuity of supply and maintain service levels. Where this applies, it will be reflected on your delivery invoice.

How often will Flogas update customers?

We will update this page whenever there is new information. If any change directly affects your account, we will communicate clearly on the Flogas website.

–+

Why can’t you forecast long-term conditions right now?

Global events can shift quickly, which makes our ability to predict what may happen over the coming months harder. Rather than speculate, we focus on real, reliable market data and communicate only what we know to be accurate.

–+

Why are global events being mentioned if Flogas operates in the UK?

Although we only supply customers across Britain, the energy we purchase is affected by global energy markets.

Events in the Middle East and around key shipping routes do affect global energy supply and prices even if UK deliveries remain stable.

Should I order extra gas or bring my delivery forward?

At present, there is no need to change your usual ordering habits. If your tank is running low or you think you will need to order soon, let us know as soon as possible so we can plan deliveries accordingly.

–+

Are you expecting supply problems in the future?

At present, there is no indication of supply problems. We have been investing in storage and supply facilities over several years to help maintain a reliable supply. However it is clear there is disruption in the Middle East which continues to have wider impact. Our teams monitor the situation daily, and if anything were to change, we will inform customers promptly.

–+

Should I be worried about running out of gas?

At present, there is no indication of disruption to customer deliveries, and Flogas Britain continues to supply customers as normal.

If you are a bulk customer on Auto-ordering, we will continue to monitor your tank as normal.

If you are a Manual order (or on-call) bulk or cylinder customer (who orders gas as and when they need it), then please let us know as soon as possible when you think you will order so we can plan deliveries in advance.

Our teams continue to monitor global developments closely and we will update customers if anything changes.
